Writing for me is very tiring, it wears me down mentally and usually takes me a while. My problem would be that I write in a way that I'm just trying to get the point across. I don't like to fill my papers with smoke and "jibber jabber" and yet I still have to. I write in a way that I get the point or purpose of what ever I'm writing across right at the start then I have nothing else to say. Having this type of writing style makes it really hard to write long papers and meet certain requirements that professors or schools put on them. The reason it's so tiring is that I have to sit and find a way to make the paper longer and more interesting so that I do not lose the reader. Me being the perfectionist that I am doesn't help the situation at all! I write a line and then erase it because I don't like the way it sounds. I rather speak about a subject than write about it because I feel the words flow more naturally from my mouth than they do when I try to write them down and get them to flow.
So... having to compare my writing to something, I think I would say a search engine, straight to the point and what you see is what you get. When you want to know something or find something out you go to your preferred search engine type in what you want to know or find out and BAM! You've got the information you're looking for but, sometimes you've gotta trek through tons of unreliable sites to find the right one for the right information that's reliable and will stand up in a follow up. My writings are like those unreliable sources until I painstakingly form them into something that people want to hear. Something people will continue to read and maybe listen to or use. I'm always worried about the negative aspects of my writing that I often catch myself reading something over and over making sure it's going to be right and still it doesn't always make for good writing. Being the type of writer I am makes for accurate but sometimes boring papers, like the search engine and research is boring. If I could change my writing I would want to change in a way that my papers are more like videos, if you're not interested in the topic then there is still something interesting to look at and learn from if the words are quite reaching your ears.
In the end I get straight to the point . . kind of like a bullet from a
gun, the writing being the gun and my straight to the point approach
being the bullet. . . even though the gun is swaying once the trigger is
pulled my bullet is straight as an arrow and right on point.
Pretty good! Liked how you said what we are all thinking with all the requirements! nice job
ReplyDeleteI like this. I am sort of the opposite I always have the jibber jabber and never get to the point. I think I am getting better though.
